...and there he is the clown
with an abeentee upside down frown
tempting a smile from the audience,
with his gift of clairvoyance
carelessly throwing the joy
wanting the smile to reveal
those simple joys indide us all
that gentle humour, to make us believe
that our childhood isn't quite gone
treasured dreams that enliven our soul
for he'll awaken our emotion, with care
bringing the performance to us all.
